As we have seen in my previous post, that Nagas were ethnic race, who lived in south India, migrated to different parts of the word, which can be seen in their history and literature. In this post we will see the relationship & differences between Nagas. Tamil & dravida and Aryans in India ( https://elamurugans.blogspot.com/2021/07/arava-nadu-etymology.htm l) Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar as we know he was a brilliant mind , he was fascinated by every aspect of India's social, economic, political, cultural, and religious life. He also researched India's history and tried an in-depth examination of the various communities that inhabited the country, including their cultures, zones of influence, and languages. Black July - anti-Tamil riots in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo

Image
Black July   is the common name used to refer to the pre meditated anti-tamil program that occurred in  Sri Lanka  during July 1983. It was finally triggered by a  deadly ambush  on 23 July 1983, which caused the death of 13  Sri Lanka Army  soldiers, by the  Tamil militant group   Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam .  Although initially orchestrated by  members  of the ruling  UNP , the pogrom soon escalated into mass violence with significant public participation. On the night of 24 July 1983, anti-Tamil rioting started in the capital city of Colombo and then spread to other parts of the country. Over seven days, mainly Sinhalese mobs attacked, burned, looted, and killed Tamil targets. Estimates of the death toll range between 400 and 3,000,   and 150,000 people became homeless. Around 8,000 homes and 5,000 shops were destroyed. The  International Commission of Ju...

ARAVA NADU - ETYMOLOGY

Image
In Telugu, they refer TAMILNADU as "ARAVA NADU" ARAVAM means Pambu / Snake / பாம்பு  It doesn't mean Tamilnadu is best known for snakes, Snakes are found everywhere in India There was a ethnic race called "Nagargal" lived mostly in Tamilnadu & Srilanka Srilanka historical book Mahavamsam clearly states before vijayan landed in then srilanka, there were people living already in srilanka and named them as "Nagar" Nagargal which is Nagam or pambu or aravam and hence called Aravanadu we can see lot of tamil places still named Arava kuruchi, Naga pattinam, Naga land, Nagar koil, which probably means these ethnic people would have lived in large number in these places read the article in the given link -  https://www.indiadivine.org This particular word is the main etmology source for many other words such as Nagar + Agam = Nagarigam/civilization/நாகரிகம்  Nagar + Am (where they live) = Nagaram (நகரம்) Many examples of Nagas appear on the walls and alon...

TELUGU WORDS - VENNALA, THELUPU, THELLANI CHANDRUDU ETYMOLOGY

Image
In Tamil 'vellai' means white (color) and 'Nillavu' means 'Moon'. Thus in Tamil 'Vellai Nillavu' means 'White Moon'(also called pal-nillavu, where pal means milk, again denoting a pure white nature of the moon). The word Nillavu over a period of time shortened to form Nila Nillavu -- Nila Thus the word Vellai Nillavu became Vellai Nila. This word Vellai Nila became 'Vennala' in Telugu. Thus it is an adapted word in Telugu and not a Telugu word as such. Informatively White in Telugu is Thelupu ( This again is a Tamil word called 'Velluppu' to mean bright. Velluppu became Thelupu in Telugu) and Moon in Telugu is Jaabili, Chandrudu (which is of Sanskrit origin). The standalone word Nila or Vellai has no meaning in Telugu. Thus, in order to refer to a white or bright Moon, in chaste Telugu, it should be called 'Thellani Chandrudu' or 'Thellani Jaabili' CLICK BELOW LINK FOR ETYMOLOGY OF OTHER WORDS & TAM...
