WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE MY DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

I received the video below from numerous friends and in groups that I am a part of with forwarded messages that read as follows.

I understand that this message is absurd. But I can't just dismiss it because it's been forwarded to all of the groups in which I'm a member, and three of my Hindu friends have individually forwarded it to me over Whatsapp.

Again, this post is written without hatred in mind, but with a sinking feeling about how, intentionally or unintentionally, we are infused with venom into the hearts and brain of INDIANS.

My closest friends know that I am someone who feels that religion should never, ever be politicised and kept out of politics. Regrettably, religion today plays a major part in politics in EVERY country. It is being used to propagate enmity and friction amongst citizens of the same country and other countries, rather than spreading peace and prosperity. Being from a "Forward caste" (educated!?) society, I personally believe in the principle of humanity, and I will be the first to denounce anything spoken or written in my religious scripts that I do not feel would be said by any godly personalities for sure.

MY QUESTIONS ON THE VIDEO SHARED AND THE MESSAGE FORWARDED

Forwarded message : The day is not far to see this happen in India?

Are you certain? If this occurs in India, who is to blame? Is it because minorities are discriminated, similar to how Hindus are discriminated in Pakistan? Can I interpret this as an acknowledgement that Indians too have lost their religious tolerance?

Forwarded message : If we don't fight unitedly as Hindus in India.....

Shouldn't be the word Hindus replaced as Indians in India. How many Muslims in India will support or promote this violence? Isn't it likely that if there are any, they are being subjected to racial or religious prejudice by Hindus? Isn't this statement an acceptance of the same? Wouldn't this statement further divide Indians rather than unifying?

Forwarded message : if Hindus are divided only religion which gains is ........

Who is the source of Hindu discord? Islam? Christianity? or any others? Isn't it true that in India, the mass of Muslims and Christians were historically Hindus? They were either forced or subjected to discrimination to adapt to other religion. Am I right or wrong? Or do you believe that all of these individuals have come to India from Arab and British countries?

In Sri Lanka, Sinhalese committed a number of atrocities against Tamil Hindus and Indian Muslims. They destroyed temples, schools, libraries, ruthlessly killed Tamil and Muslim civilians. What did Hindus in India do about it, except from watch and change the page of the newspaper & TV channels? And some even labelled the victims as terrorists, don't we? What did the Indian government do? Keep in mind that they have a very amazing bond with Sri Lanka; unlike Pakistan, where we must go to the UN to interfere in the terrible killings of Tamil Hindus and Indian Muslims. They dispatched Indian troops to Sri Lanka under the pretext of a peacekeeping mission, who ensured that greater damage was done to Tamil Hindus and Indian Muslims. So what did we do about it? North Indians thought this is South Indian problem. Isn't? Tamilnadu Court have so many times raised the question of whether Tamils and Tamilnadu not an integral part of India? INDIA KEEPS QUIET. 

The Prime Minister of any country should be the Prime Minister of all citizens of that country, not just one group. He can be a member of any political party, but only until they are elected. He or she is the Prime Minister of the country once elected, not the Prime Minister of Hindus or Muslims. Nothing will change unless this is imprinted in the mind of all politicians.

And remember what Pakistan's founding father, " Ali Jinnah ", declared in his independence day speech: " Pakistan will be a country for ALL, not only for Muslims," and the main reason he divided Pakistan from India was because of a previous report card indicating that Muslims in India were mistreated. And it's sickening, exhausting, and sad to see Pakistan deteriorate into what it is now.

And, clearly, we Indians are not living up to the dream of our nation's father, Mahatma Gandhi, of remaining united as brothers and sisters regardless of religion, caste, or culture. We call this UNITY in DIVERSITY, although it is currently only visible in papers and in the hearts and minds of a few individuals. But the good news is that it's not too late for others to wake up from your nightmares.
